The Gateway is both a Channel Access server and Channel Access client, and provides a means for multiple clients to access process variables from multiple servers while needing only one connection to the server that owns each process variable. It also provides additional access security beyond that on the origin server. It can thus protect critical servers while providing limited access to process variables. The Gateway typically runs on a machine with multiple network interfaces, where the clients and servers may be on different subnets.
This project retains the revision history from the EPICS CVS repository; it was converted to Bazaar on 2011-10-25.
