Update in Januar 2009:
I am now on 8.04 LTS on my Acer Laptop and it works great, network-manager better, fglrx works good, still fighting with the
external screen (19" TFT) to have an seperated (dualview) screen with differrent resolution.

The CD-ROM issue slightly changed. for some CD's or blank-CD's I still get a line in /var/log/messages about "this cdrom does not contain any tracks I recognize..." but I can mount by hand.

Now having vmware Server 1.0.8 build-126538 and kernel 2.6.24-23 running.

Update in Januar 2010: </br>

I am now on 9.10 on my Acer 5005 WLHI Laptop. Happy to jumped on Karma as WLAN and Mobile Surf-Stick is pretty fine. Still fight with burning DVD(+R) and DVD(-R) as they show up as 0 byte size but "recordable". No other message in syslog than " cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize!". Also struggle with upstart and my crypto-start script (which work fine in 8.04.3!).

Cheers
