Cisco has been contributing to the openstack community. Cisco's main contribution has been in improving the network services components, primarily Nova network and Quantum. As the number of customers deploying openstack with Cisco products/solutions grows, so will Cisco contribution. Our customers provide us with valuable requirements for scale, stability, and feature richness, which we will help share and develop with the community. This contribution, although initially with networking, will now expand into other areas of openstack such as swift, glance, and even service assurance.

As more and more customers deploy massively scalable cloud computing architectures, they consider multiple cloud OS options, openstack being one of them. Cisco wants to ensure its product and solutions are qualified with openstack, as well as other available options (such as vmware ;-). Initially Cisco will qualify Openstack on the following products:

• UCS (B and C series)
• Nexus
• Intelligent Automation for Cloud

And expand this offering to more Cisco products and Solutions.
