The 0x539 dev group is a small group of prospective freelance hackers dedicated to pursuing the philosophy of free software and open standards while having fun.

We are mainly active in web design and web development. Yet we also attempt to maintain a broad palette of skills such as Unix system administration, application and system programming. Our aim is to be proficient in many fields so we can be versatile developers and provide competent support.

As we are not professionals, we can and do take the freedom to obey Internet standards and good style and do our best to support the Free Software community.

So, if the problem allows it, we will put effort into making it possible for others to reuse our code, by making it compatible with standard interfaces and libraries that are used on a wide variety of platforms. Our code will also be available under an Open Source licence if the objective allows it.

This means that our code is portable and reusable by other members of the community who will profit from our effort, independent of trivial circumstances like actual task, requirements or platform, unencumbered by near-sighted business practices, or overprotective and egoistic licensing schemes.
