I'm a PhD student in philosophy at the University of Minnesota. I've been using GNU/Linux since 1999, and Ubuntu since Breezy. I've only just begun to try to get involved with bug reporting, and am struggling to understand the packaging/merging with Debian process.

If I do something stupid or unhelpful in my bug reports, please let me know. I'd like to contribute, but am currently stuck squarely in the "feeling overwhelmed" stage.
