Emmanuel Habumuremyi is now working with the Ministry of Youth and ICT, as the Advisor to the Minister since March 2012. He is borne on the 1st of January 1972. He is married and has got 3 children. He holds a Master's Degree in New Media, Governance and Democracy from the University of Leicester, UK; a BA in English from the National University of Rwanda, and a Certificate in University Teaching Skills from the Carleton University.
Before joining the Ministry, Emmanuel Habumuremyi worked as a Project Coordinator for a joint programme to Strengthen Good Governance by UNDP and DFID, a consultant for the Association for Progressive communications based in South Africa as an author of Rwanda chapter in the Global Information Society Watch (GISWatch) since 2008. He held other various duties as a Coordinator of Food Security and Water dgCommunities at Development Gateway Foundation, Content Team Leader at Rwanda Development Gateway, Field manager for e-Acess and Usage Survey by the Research ICT Africa (RIA) in 2008, A Communication and Documentation Officer at CCOAIB, Media Monitor at the Media High Council.
He has been involved in several researches aimed as understanding the role of ICT for development such as the UNDP research on Pro-poor ICT enable development; CICEWA reserach on telecommunication reforms.
Software localization is my hobby (Ubuntu Linux, SIL Fieldworks, LexiquePro, Wesay, etc.).
