flex 2.6.0-9 source package in Ubuntu
Changelog
flex (2.6.0-9) unstable; urgency=low * Updated standards version to 3.9.7. No changes needed. * Bug fix: "[src:flex] FTCBFS: runs host arch binaries during build", thanks to Helmut Grohne. Make the tests use either the installed flex or the newly built flex to generate test soureces, depending on whether or not we are cross compiling. Also added a build depends flex <cross> Hope this works. This has not broken the common case. (Closes: #762180). -- Manoj Srivastava <email address hidden> Thu, 18 Feb 2016 12:26:17 -0800

- flex: fast lexical analyzer generator
Flex is a tool for generating scanners: programs which recognized lexical
patterns in text. It reads the given input files for a description of a
scanner to generate. The description is in the form of pairs of regular
expressions and C code, called rules. Flex generates as output a C source
file, lex.yy.c, which defines a routine yylex(). This file is compiled
and linked with the -lfl library to produce an executable. When the
executable is run, it analyzes its input for occurrences of the regular
expressions. Whenever it finds one, it executes the corresponding C code.
