MTPaint is not The Gimp, but many users doesn't need a huge and professional program.
Supports JPEG, JPEG2000, WEBP, PNG, XPM, XBM, PNM, GIF, LBM, PCX, TIFF, TGA, BMP, LSS and ASCII formats and loads of tools, like brushes, lines, effects... Fully scriptable from within the GUI or from command line.

MTPaint can fill the gap between the old XPaint and The Gimp.
